Julius Caesar of the banned Chhatra League is now a contender for vice president at DUCSU.
There has been controversy surrounding the compilation of nomination papers for Julius Caesar Talukder, a leader of the Chhatra League and the Vice-President (VP) of the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU). He picked up his nomination papers from Dr. Mohammad Jasim Uddin, the chief returning officer for the DUCSU Election Commission, on Tuesday.

Caesar, meantime, was the Salimullah Muslim Hall GS candidate nominated by the Chhatra League for the 2019 DUCSU elections. He is charged with torturing students, obstructing the voting process, and attacking students with weapons during the 2019 DUCSU and Hall elections.
Caesar was allegedly in charge of the 2019 DUCSU elections, blocking candidates from other parties from entering voting places and setting up fictitious queues in SM Hall to keep voters from casting ballots, according to former candidates and irate students. The Chhatra Dal's nominee for GS in the 2019 DUCSU elections, Anisur Rahman Khandaker Anik, declared, "I ran for the GS position in the 2019 DUCSU elections.
